The ALAC Trophies named in honor of the pioneers and founders of Little Athletics in Australia

There will be five Trophies awarded at the 2025 Coles Australian Little Athletics Championships:

  • Trevor Billingham Trophy: awarded to the Team with the highest points overall in the U13 age group.
  • Alan Triscott Trophy: awarded to the Team with the highest points adjusted score in the U13 age group.
  • Dick Healey Trophy: awarded to the Team with the highest points adjusted score in the U14 age group.
  • Maxine Boyd: awarded to the Team with the highest points adjusted score in the U15 age group.
  • Life Members Trophy: awarded to the Team with the highest points overall in the U15 Combined Events Championships

Trevor Billingham is the pioneer of Little Athletics. Known as the “Ideas” man, he created the first Little Athletics program on an October Saturday morning in 1963 in Geelong, Victoria. After he saw the need for young kids to compete in a weekly competition, as kids were too young to participate in the senior athletics competitions.

Alan Triscott was instrumental in the development of Little Athletics in Victoria and around Australia. Along with Trevor Billingham, from 1964 Alan visited communities across Australia to establish Little Australia.

Trevor and Alan became the two main drivers of Little Athletics; Trevor the “Ideas” man, Alan the “implementer”, who brought the ideas to life.

Dick Healey was instrumental in the development of Little Athletics in New South Wales.

Dick Healey the first President of Little Athletics New South Wales (LANSW). He was also the first member of Parliament for the seat of Wakehurst.

Maxine Boyd began her Little Athletics journey as a parent helper at the Northern Districts Little Athletics Club WA in 1971. Where she held the positions of registrar, treasurer, records and ranking officer and Team Manageress; in addition to assisting with Centre coaching.

Known amongst the Little Athletics community as a member of the 𝑷𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝑪𝒊𝒓𝒄𝒍𝒆🟣 The group of 3 women, who have given their time and expertise to help make Little Athletics what it is today.
