Inclusion at Little Athletics

Featured Image

At Little Athletics we want everyone to feel included - What does this look like?

Inclusion is:

  • Everyone is welcome in the athletics community, and we show this by listening to each other and being kind.
  • Everyone is valued because they are different and unique.
  • Everyone can participate and have fun.
  • Everyone can achieve and learn new skills.

How can I include everyone?

We each have a role to include our peers at athletics. You can do this -

  • Treat everyone with kindness and the way you would like to be treated.
  • Listen to each other and show interest in them.
  • Reach out to other athletes, especially when they are new to the centre.
  • Be friendly with your peers.
  • Make everyone feel accepted and welcome.
  • Encourage your peers and give genuine compliments.
  • Offer help.
  • Think about other peoples’ feelings when making decisions.

If you feel someone is being excluded, you or your parent/carer can speak to your Age Manager or a Committee Member.

What can I do if I don’t feel included?

Little Athletics volunteers will chat with you about your needs and will make adjustments if you need them so that you can have the best experience!

Little Athletics welcomes everyone but if you feel you have been treated unfairly or are not being included, you or your parent/carer can speak to your Age Manager or a Committee member.
