ATC – Australian Teams Championships: U13 & U13-U14 Multi-Class athletes.

ATCAustralian Teams Championships

  • Teams Championships, where the U13 athletes and U13-U14 Multi-Class athletes are representing their Member Association and competing for Team points.  The athletes are awarded points in the Track & Field events, based on their performance – place.  The points accumulate across all events and contribute to the 3 Trophies that is the foundation of this Teams event. 
  • Athletes are selected based on criteria approved by the Member Association.

Trophies                                                                                               

  • Trevor Billingham Trophy – Highest points score
  • Alan Triscott Trophy – Points adjusted score
  • Dick Healy Trophy – Highest points score between ACT & TAS.

The Winning Team will receive a replica of the Perpetual Trophy to keep.

Team Size

  • Maximum 16 athletes per gender for U13 athletes – Total of 32 athletes.
  • Maximum 8 athletes for U13-U14 Multi-Class athletes, gender mix at Member Association discretion.
  • Maximum of 2 athletes per event, per Member Association, for both U13 and U13-U14 Multi-Class, with all athletes eligible to score points.
  • U13 athletes can compete in a maximum of 6 events, including both Relays.
  • U13-U14 Multi-Class athletes can compete in a maximum of 6 events.

Events

U13 athletes – 16 events:

  • 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 1500m Walk, 80m Hurdles, 200m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, 4 x 100m Relay, Swedish Medley Relay (100m,300m,200m,400m)

U13-U14 Multi-Class athletes – 8 events:

  • 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin.

Format

U13 athletes:

  • Track - up to 200m Hurdles - 2 Heats and 1 Final, 400m - 2 Timed Finals, 800mts, 1500mts, 1500mts Walk, Relays – 1 Final.
  • Field – all except High Jump, 3 trials, Top 8 – 1 additional trial, reverse order.
  • Relays – score single points only.

U13-U14 Multi-Class athletes:

  • Track – all events – Timed Finals or Final.
  • Field – all events, all athletes 4 trials, no reverse on last trial.
  • Multi-Class athletes must have a Provisional or Full Classification.
  • Results will be converted using the Baseline Tables.
  • Points are awarded after the conversion of the Baseline Tables.

Medals / Medallions

  • U13 and U13-U14 Multi-Class athletes will receive individual medals per event.
  • Team medals will be presented to the winning Team of each Trophy.
  • All athletes will receive either a Team medal or participation medallion.

Uniform

  • Certain Competition and Casual items supplied; Optional & additional items can be purchased as part of the final Team selection and acceptance.

Coaching

  • Athletes will only be permitted to receive coaching advice from Team Management. Coaching areas will be inside the field of play, close to the event.

Eligibility

  • Athletes must be a registered financial competitive member in the correct age group prior to submission of Team sheets.

Team Experience

  • Prior to event, the Team Experience is determined by the Member Association, including the travel and accommodation requirements.
  • At the event, the Full Team Experience is provided to all athletes.

  • Friday 21st April – Track Familiarisation / Warm Up & Opening Ceremony
  • Saturday 22nd April – Competition
  • Sunday 23rd April – Competition & Closing Ceremony.
