LAA Ambassador - Mackenzie Little Bio

Mackenzie Little is hot-off the international competition circuit after winning the bronze medal in the Javelin at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, as well as securing the bronze in the Diamond League final and winning the Lausanne Diamond League. She is also the 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medalist and Australian record holder for the U18 and U20 age groups. Mackenzie is an Olympian after finishing 8th in the Javelin final at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Mackenzie grew up in Sydney and started Little Athletics at her local Centre in the Northern Suburbs at the age of 6 years. She found enjoyment in lots of different athletics events but discovered a true talent for Javelin. “I enjoyed the 400m Hurdles and competed in one fun Heptathlon but found my niche in Javelin and started breaking age records and having lots of fun!”

After Little Athletics, she went on to win the 2013 World Youth Championships in Ukraine with a huge personal best. This sport has taken her all around world including the opportunity to study and compete for Stanford University in California, USA. She has also competed at 2 x World University Games, 2 x World Athletics Championships, a Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games. She now has her eyes set on the 2024 Paris Olympic Games after throwing a qualifying standard.
