Bay and Basin Little Athletics Club stars at regional event

The Basin athletes took part in the regional at Lake Illawarra on the weekend and did themselves and their club proud.

Not even the blistering heat could prevent the Basin athletes from impressing.

Six athletes qualified to take part in the upcoming State Little Athletics Championships.

Tsar Mandavy was particularly impressive and at the state event will complete in six events.

Basin club officials cannot remember the last time one of their athletes recorded such a huge achievement.

He was first in high jump, long jump, triple jump, 100m hurdles and 300 m hurdles, with a second pace in javelin added into the mix.

Laylah Connelly also impressed and is off to state after coming first in the 200m hurdles and second in the 400m.

Addison Kingma is off to state thanks to his great second placing in the under 11 boys javelin.

Jake Swan booked his state spot by coming first in the 60m hurdles.

The consistently strong Haylee Connelly was third in the 100m and 200m.
